Choosing a Bra
What’s the biggest mistake women make when choosing a bra?
Not having a fitting. Triumph research shows that 7 out of 10 women are wearing the wrong sized bra. In an ideal world, Triumph would love to see women have a fitting every time they buy a bra but if this is not an option for you, then aim for at least once a year. A professional bra fitter will ensure that not only are you wearing the right size bra, but that it is the right style for your shape and lifestyle. They will even make sure its adjusted properly to give you the maximum level of support and comfort. Triumph trained fitters work in specialty stores around Australia. We have had ladies in tears of joy at finally finding a comfortable/well fitting bra. After all, you wear a bra for at least eight hours a day, it should be comfortable.
What should I remember when bra shopping?
- That no two bras offer exactly the same level of support or will fit the same way - even if they have the same size on the tag. Sizes change between brands and even sometimes within a single brand's different styles.
- That you need to devote a bit of time to bra shopping. Don't try and shop for a new strapless bra for your hot new cocktail dress in a 20 minute lunch break. You will end up frustrated and disappointed. Take your time to assess what it is you are really in need of and seek the assistance of lingerie specialists.
- That it is entirely realistic to expect your bra to be comfortable. They are not instruments of torture to be endured during the work day, only to be ripped off the minute you walk in the door. If you try a bra on and it is not comfortable, then it's not the right bra for you (or not the right size).
